K-6 Elementary Teaching Position

 $43,775-$76,674 annually

General Position Summary

Teach two reading blocks or two math blocks depending on the grade level,  writing, and project based learning around social studies standards and science. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Apply subject matter expertise to facilitate quality student learning

• Grade student-created work against established standards for competence and apply scores to standards-based report cards

• Demonstrate an understanding of developmentally appropriate reading, math, and writing skills. Move students from stage to stage to meet grade-level standards, including remediating struggling readers.

• Communicate with parents via email and personal contact

• Organize volunteers and maintain strong connections with them

• Understand the principles of positive behavior management/ modification

• Demonstrate professionalism, willingness to learn from others, and collaboration skills to implement projects with peers

• Demonstrate adaptability and adhere to respectful professional interaction with peers

• Attend and actively participate in meetings and trainings as required by Oasis Academy administration

• Abide by policies and procedures to maintain compliance with FERPA regulations

• Abide by policies established in the Oasis Academy Staff Handbook

• Available as needed for planning on non-student contact days

• Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Understanding and appreciation for project-based learning as well as Wonders Reading Curriculum, Singapore Math, Amplify Science

• Fluent use of educational technology platforms and common office software packages such as Google Drive/Apps, NWEA MAPS, and other EdTech software.

• Must be able to perform at a high level in written and verbal communication

Required Experience and/or Education

• Minimum earned bachelor's degree in a field related to elementary or early childhood education.  Masters degree in a field related to literacy preferred

• Current endorsement or certification in reading preferred

• Three years of work experience in teaching preferred
